The dominican Cellist based in Vienna, who dazzles with her rich, warm, beautiful and cantabile sound, holds a  master degree from the University of Music and performing arts of Vienna. Her minors included Composition, Music and Cultural Management and early Music .


Nicole is equally adept at performing great pieces of the standard cello repertoire as she is at rediscovering forgotten composers from around the world. She has performed as a soloist with the Orchestra di Roma, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional of the Dominican Republic, Concentus 21 in Austria and the Juan Pablo Duarte Orchestra of the „Conservatorio Nacional de Música“ in Santo Domingo, Dom. Rep.

 

 National and International concert tours as a chamber and orchestra musician brought her to Germany, Austria, Belgium, China, Croatia, Spain, France, England, Russia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Italy and Dominican Republic with the Duo Selvaggio ( with pianist Hugo Llanos Campos), Vienna Ensemble, Spirituosi, Max Steiner Orchestra, Junge Philharmonie Wien, Animus Quintett, Philharmonic Generations Orchestra and in Concert Halls such as Musikverein, Nova Orchester Wien ,MuTh and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Sala Teatrino at Liceu of Barcelona, Lisztzentrum Raiding, Haydnsaal Schloss Esterhazy in Eisenstadt, Auditori Josep Carreras in Tarragona,  Forbidden City in Beijing, Oriental Arts Center in Shanghai, Teatro Nacional and Palacio de Bellas Artes in Santo Domingo.

 

She has participated in the Festivals: Europees Musiekfestival voor de Jeugd, Haydn Klang, Wiener Festwochen , Musikwochen Millstatt, Musi Open Air Bad Kleinkirchheim, Expo Milano, Ravello Festival, Schubert Festival  Wien, Festival Kittsee, Mel bonis and the Horizonte Landecker Festwochen, Quito Cellos Festival, Arnold Schönberg Center's Summer Concert Series, Fosica Digital. 

 

Her awards and nominations between 2007-2023 include:  Nomination at the Soberanos Award 2024 in the category outstanding dominican classical artist abroad1 Nomination at the OPUS Klassik 2023 in the category Chamber music in Germany for the CD Amoroso , Gold Medal for the CD Amoroso as best classical album at the Global Music Awards in LA., Nomination at the Soberanos Award 2023 in the category outstanding dominican classical artist abroad. Winner of 3 PRIZES at the Premios Indie RD for her Solo Album " El canto del cisne negro", 2 Nominations at the OPUS Klassik 2021 in Germany,  Grand Frisson 2021 by the french Magazine Audiophile for the CD El canto del cisne negro, Silver Medal for the CD El canto del cisne negro, Gold Medal for the CD Souvenir latino in three categories from the Global Music Awards in Los Angeles, who also selected it among the 10 top albums if the year 2018. In  2015 she was awarded El Soberano Prize as a member of Spirituosi  for„ the best classical concert of the year“ in Dom. Rep. In 2013  she received a Special recognition from the Dominican Ministry of Youth  for her achievements in Music. Furthermore, she is nominated in D.R. for a Soberano Award in the category outstanding classical artist abraod.  In 2011 she received a recognition for her achievements in Music from the Government of D. R. also is awarded with a Scholarship from the Tokyo Foundation for her academic and human excellency.  In 2007 she won a first prize at the Europees Musiekfestival voor de Jeugd in Neerpelt, Belgium.

Her second solo album "Amoroso" with the french guitarist Damien Lancelle was released on October 2022 by the label Ars Produktion and has been distributed worldwide by Naxos. Previous albums are Souvenir latino (2017), El can
to del cisne negro (2020), Entre Cantos y Danzas (2021).

 

Currently is doing a doctorate in musicology at the University of Music and performing arts of Vienna. She also teaches at the Musikschulverband der Leitha Steinfled Gemeinden and support social projects suchs as Superar in Vienna, El Sistema Punta Cana and Fiesta Clásica in the Dominican Republic.
